Autocad Student Version Versus Full Version

As the above gentlemen stated, there is no difference between the student and full version. You can get the student version if you qualify, but you can only use it for educational purposes. No work done in the educational version can be used in any commercial version or commercial version files. Doing so can get the company or companies involved in a lot of legal trouble. So keep that in mind. Any work you create in the student version cannot be reused years later at your job. You would have to redo the work. FYI.

autocad student version versus full version

Welcome to the community! As everyone mentioned students receive full versions of Autodesk product, the tools and features of the software are the same for commercial versions. Educational users most be eligible to use the product, students have access to product for 3years.

The student version is similar to the full commercial version, except the educational flag. It means that the objects or files created in the student's version have an internal big flag set, i.e., the output contains a stamp printed on all the four sides.

AutoCAD is licensed, for free, to students, educators, and educational institutions, with a 12-month renewable license available. Licenses acquired before March 25, 2020 were a 36-month license, with its last renovation on March 24, 2020.[27] The student version of AutoCAD is functionally identical to the full commercial version, with one exception: DWG files created or edited by a student version have an internal bit-flag set (the "educational flag"). When such a DWG file is printed by any version of AutoCAD (commercial or student) older than AutoCAD 2014 SP1 or AutoCAD 2019 and newer, the output includes a plot stamp/banner on all four sides. Objects created in the Student Version cannot be used for commercial use. Student Version objects "infect" a commercial version DWG file if they are imported in versions older than AutoCAD 2015 or newer than AutoCAD 2018.[28]

How to obtain AutoCADTo start with, AutoCAD is a very expensive program to license. You can't actually 'buy' AutoCAD, but you license it from Autodesk. Which also means you can't sell it when you're done with it. That keeps you from finding used versions for sale. To purchase a fully licensed version, you would contact your local Autodesk reseller. What you can do instead is get a free trial from Autodesk. The current version is AutoCAD 2021. People can download a 30 day trial version or a 3 year 'student' version.
